With 20 years experience of moving plant machinery and large project cargo at other freight forwarding companies MD Pete Bunyan spotted a niche for somebody with extensive experience in the industry to start a company that specialised purely in this area of logistics.

Other large forwarders try to be too general in their approach to heavy plant & project shipments and don’t value the experience of specialists such as Pete which leads to them forcing customers down a “square peg round hole” route that maybe beneficial for the forwarder but not for the customer.

Pete’s intentions when starting Big Apple were to simplify the approach, explain to customers that maybe their traditional ways of shipping were not the best solution for them and help save them money and simplify things, taking the stress out of these shipments.

Pete uses his wealth of experience to simplify costing, quotes, letters of credit and industry terminology, making Big Apple a very easy to use “One stop shop” for large projects.

We bespoke each shipment to suit the customer, offering as much or as little support as needed and ensuring the stream of communication is just how the customer likes it.
